Sun Screen - a must wear!!!

Hi everyone!

I always thought that harmful sun rays affect us only during summer! As during summer it is all hot outside. Although Vitamin D is very essential for your body, however staying long out in the sun will not produce more Vitamin D, but will lead to photo aging and skin damage.

I always believed that applying sun screen during summer would be good enough for my skin. I was all wrong, lets have a look why applying sun screen is a must for you whether you are indoor or outdoor or whether its raining or its winter or summer!!

1. It protects us from harmful Ultra Violet Rays. The ozone layer is depleting continuously and hence these rays have become more harmful. Applying Sun block protects your skin from these harmful rays.

2. I have seen many people have discoloration on their face and body. This is due to continuous exposure to sun without any protection. Applying sunscreen prevents discoloration of skin.

3.It prevents tanning and sunburns.

4. It slows down the process of premature ageing.

5. It keeps your skin healthy if applied on regular basis

6. Now a days many creams and lip balms as well come with in built SPF (Sun Protection Factor) in them. So you can always choose from these options. It will serve you as cream and sun block at a time. Many sun screens even come in the format of tinted moisturiser, which when applied gives you a minimum coverage.

When and how to apply:

1. You should apply sunscreen at least 20 minutes before you leave your house. It should be applied through out the day at interval of 2 hours. I am too lazy to do that. However I make sure to apply in the morning at least;-)

2. Once you wash your face, you should go ahead with your moisturiser and then you should apply sunscreen.

3. There are tons of options available to choose from. You can choose one which suits you the best. However make sure to choose that offers SPF of at least 30.

4. PA rating means the amount of protection the sun screen offers especially against UVA rays. PA rankings are listed as PA+, PA++, PA +++. The more the plus symbols the more the protection.

5. Avoid going out between 11 am to 4 pm, this is when the sun rays are most dangerous.

Thank you for your time!!

P.S. Currently I m in Love with Lotus Herbals 3-in-1 matte look Daily sun block. SPF 40 PA +++. I would love to do a review of it, Let me know in the comments below if you want me to review the same.
